5th installation ceremony
One of the best events a club may have to kick off their new Rotaract year in style is an installation,
which is the ceremony that marks the transition of the incoming president and his board of officials.
The 5th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of NIBM marked a significant transition from
outgoing President Rtr. IPP Seniya Perera to the newly appointed President, Rtr. Dulan
Samarawickrama. Under the theme “Service above self” for the 2023-24 term. Rotaract Club of NIBM
being a continual club in Rotaract in Rotary International District 3220 celebrated their 5th Installation
Ceremony on 22nd October 2023 from 11.00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M at Disaster Management Auditorium
premises.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Past District Rotaract Representative Rotarian
Kasun Sigera as the Guest of Honour, The President of the Rotary Club of Capital City Rotarian Russell
Dandaniya being the Chief Guest, DRR for the year 2023-24 Rotractor Past President Sathma
Jayasinghe, DRS for the year 2023-24 Rtr PP Adheeban Gorishankar and Rtr PP Methmini
Kariyakarawana, DRRE Rtn. Rtr. PP Shanel Mendis, The Guide club coordinator for the year 2023-24

5th charter day
In the spirit of fellowship and service, the Rotaract Club of NIBM commemorated its 5th Charter Day with a heartwarming initiative focused on caring for our elders. On 5th of January 2024, club members embarked on a visit to Aloka Elders home, an institution dedicated to providing comfort and support to senior citizens. Guided by the Rotaract motto of “Service Above Self,” the club presented a thoughtful donation of adult diapers & curtain sheets, addressing a crucial need often overlooked for this age group. Witnessing the genuine appreciation on the faces of the residents solidified the impact of this act of kindness.
The Charter Day celebration transcended mere festivities, transforming into a tangible expression of the club’s core values. By prioritizing the well-being of our community’s most vulnerable members, the Rotaract Club of NIBM not only served others but also reaffirmed its commitment to making a lasting difference. This event marked a significant milestone in the club’s journey, solidifying its dedication to serving the community and inspiring future generations to embrace the spirit of Rotaract.
