Coachella
“COACHELLA”, organized by the Rotaract Club of NIBM, was a vibrant and culturally themed event that
brought together members and participants for an exciting evening of entertainment. The project aimed to
celebrate the Western culture and embrace the theme of Hollywood through various activities and
performances, creating a lively atmosphere for everyone involved.
The event featured a Hollywood themed night, showcasing the rich and diverse array of characters in the
Hollywood sector. The Headliner DJ for the night, DJ Sash, played a mix of music to complement the theme
and keep the energy high throughout the event.
A key highlight of the project was the Hollywood King and Queen selecting competition, which added a fun
and engaging element to the evening. This competition involved participants showcasing their creativity,
style, or talents in line with the theme.
Members of the Rotaract club contributed to the event by performing a group song, adding a personal touch
and variety to the entertainment lineup. The performances added to the overall festive atmosphere and
cultural richness of the project.
With a turnout of more than 350 participants, the event successfully attracted a diverse audience, fostering a
sense of community and engagement among the attendees. The venue, DHPL, provided a suitable space for
the event to unfold, taking place from 6 to 11 pm, ensuring an enjoyable and well-paced experience for all.
To capture the memorable moments, the inclusion of the photo booth allowed participants to document their
experiences in an immersive way, enhancing the overall event experience.
What Jhumka
As the month of Deepawali is upon us and as a way to experience and indulge in the Indian / Desi culture the Rotaract Clubs of
Colombo Uptown, ICBT & NIBM have come together in order to organize a Bollywood / Desi themed Festival like no other. Project
“What Jhumka?” is a Bollywood themed night where the general public can come together and get dressed in an Indian / Desi attire
and enjoy their night after a full tiring week of work and stress where they can relax a bit and have fun whilst experiencing the Indian
culture through the food, atmosphere and the overall event. The event will be open to all Rotaractors, Campus Students, Interactors
and the General Public. It’s going to be something similar to a Grand Ball but with a Desi Twist. This night will contain a DJ and a
Dance Floor where the participants can let out their inner desi child and dance their hearts out to Bollywood beats plus, we will also
be having Food Stalls so that the participants can indulge in the Indian cuisine as well as a Photo Booth and some entertaining
performances as well. On top of all that there will be a segment where the participants get to show off their attire and the best few
attires will be winning gifts. There will be a few performances as well. Overall, it will be a night of fun, laughter, relaxation and full-
on joy for all the participants who attend. On top of it all they get to experience the Desi culture for a few hours and have endless fun.
