Project Senehasa is an initiative which was done to donate goods for children aged one to five years at Pem Niwasa in Moratuwa. The project was completed successfully by donating essential medicines and dry rations including milk packets and sweets. Shades of Green

Environmental sustainability is the responsibility to conserve natural resources and protect global ecosystems to support health and wellbeing, now and in the future. Because so many decisions that impact the environment are not felt immediately, a key element of environmental sustainability is its forward-looking nature.

Industrial and technological growth means we need more power than ever. Yet our planet is reaching a breaking point. We are beginning to see the consequences of global warming on ecosystems and communities. That’s why now more than ever businesses need to invest in environmentally sustainable and socially responsible practices, like using clean energy and paying living wages, to secure a livable future.

Stop The Ragging

Many university students look forward to gaining entry to a university, and celebrating this milestone in their transition to adulthood. However, this elation and excitement is often replaced by fear and anxiety when students have to undergo harmful initiation practices and rituals.

All efforts must be used to eliminate ragging and its deleterious effects. There is a serious need for deep reforms within universities and a critical look at the role of structural violence, to successfully address ragging.

Green Legacy

“Rotary One Million Trees” is a timely initiative by Rotary International District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives, where a tree will be planted for every Rs.100 donated, and we started Green Legacy, an initiative to raise Rs.10,000 in aid of “Rotary One Million Trees,” and we encouraged anyone who was willing to donate any amount toward this project because even the smallest step can make a big difference.

We were able to obtain sponsorship from Nava Agriculture, a subsidiary of the Nava Tech parent company, with a commitment to address dynamic environmental issues. The company donated 10,000 LKR while the club members donated 2900 LKR for the initiative.
